Preparations are on top gear to for the coronation of His Royal Highness, the Emir of Lere, Engineer Suleiman Umaru billed to hold on Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at the proposed Police Area Command Headquarters in Lere.
During the ceremony, the Governor of Kaduna State Malam Nasir El-Rufa’i is expected to present the Staff of Office to the new Emir who succeeded his uncle, retired Brigadier General Abubakar Garba Muhammed, who died in April this year.
Engr. Suleiman ascended to the throne on Wednesday, June 30 when he received his letter of appointment and was installed as the 14th Emir of Lere in an elaborate ceremony.
He is the eldest son of the 12th Emir of Lere, Alhaji Umaru Muhammad who reigned from 1980 to 2011 and a great, great, great grandson of the first ruler and founder of Lere Emirate Malam Muhammadu Dabo Titi.
Already the Cenral Working Committee for the coronation headed by Senator Abubakar Danso Sodangi, Jarman Lere, is putting the finishing touches to ensure a hitch-free and successful event.
